Human Resources Director

Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Jupiter seeks to hire a highly motivated, detailed-oriented and experienced professional as its Human Resources, Director reporting to the General Counsel and VP, Corporate.

Serve as a consultant for the Executive and Senior leadership teams on identifying and developing organizational strategies that support current and future HR trends and issues; use benchmark data, industry trends, and data from the HR scorecard to contribute to the strategic thinking and direction of the organization; create and execute human resources objectives, activities, and initiatives in line with the organization’s strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and make recommendations to improve the organization's policies, procedures and practices on employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and employee morale issues; determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and updated employment legislation to ensure the organization is in compliance at all times; maintain responsibility for organization’s compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and guidelines from other regulatory agencies as it relates to employment practices; enforce adherence to requirements organization-wide and advise the Executive and Senior leadership teams, management and staff on required actions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about HR best practices and industry trends
  • Serve as a coach and consultant for management and staff by interpreting HR policies; investigate employee relations issues in partnership with company counsel, management and staff on issue such as harassment and/or discrimination allegations, work place violence complaints; leverage knowledge of employment laws and company policies and procedures to resolve issues
  • Lead the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary initiatives, programs, and initiatives
  • Maintain the organization’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) that meets the organization's personnel information needs; prepare and maintain employment personnel records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves of absence, promotions, and employment status changes and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Conduct HR / personnel needs analysis, in order to develop, benchmark, pilot, and implement related HR programs to meet those needs; analyze and implement organization-wide initiatives based on solid analysis of root cause issues with the ability to critically assess the effectiveness of new or revised programs
  • Oversee and manage the full employee life cycle from entry to exit; oversee, implement, and manage recruitment strategies to align with current and future recruiting needs; work closely with the Executive, Senior, and management teams to conduct workforce planning, as needed
  • Create and implement HR policies, processes, and procedures, programs, initiatives, and activities to ensure compliance with employment laws, such as Worker's compensation, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA, COBRA and other regulatory laws required; process and track Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, STD, and LTD requests
  • Oversee payroll, employee benefits and 401k matters.
  • Create, complete, and submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as required or needed

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness, or closely related field

· 5+ years professional work experience in HR roles, 3+ years in supervisory position

· Strong working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws

· Strong working knowledge of compensation analysis and benefit design and administration

· Very strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with executive and senior leadership; strong relationship management skills
