Job Description
Fresca Mexican Foods (Fresca) is a premier manufacturer of tortillas, wraps, and chips. Our SQF certified world-class facility is located in Caldwell, Idaho. For 45 years, Fresca has been manufacturing and supplying our customers with the highest quality products using the finest ingredients and time-tested formulations, manufacturing processes, and freezing techniques. Sanitation Worker
Compensation:
Base Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience
Full-time and part-time opportunities
$1500.00 sign-on bonus for full-time employees, payable after 180 days employed
Hours:
12-hour shifts (let us know your preferred schedule)
Days: 5:30AM to 5:30PM
Nights: 5:30PM to 5:30AM - extra $3.00 per hour shift differential
Mid-day variable shifts available
There will be weekend shifts required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct sanitation tasks daily and according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
- Disassemble/assemble equipment as needed
- Follow all safety policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Fall Prevention, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use
- Remove any garbage, debris or waste from the floor or production equipment
- Provide back-up support to production when needed
- Read and follow directions on chemical usage labels, follow mixing instructions for chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing, and review MSDS sheets to obtain appropriate hazard information
- Perform multiple tasks with time constraints
- Scrub equipment with scrub pads
- Use an intrinsically safe vacuum
- Use high pressure hoses, air hoses, and foaming stations
- Communicate to the production and maintenance teams issues concerning recurring equipment malfunctions and food safety/quality issues
- Establish positive working relationships with all co-workers to maximize teamwork
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to complete chemical titrations
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow directions well and work independently within a team environment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and methodically
- Strong work ethic
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work in a safe manner
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to work overtime, nights and/or weekends, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with sanitation chemicals
- Experience with chemical foaming stations and high-pressure hoses
- Experience in dry sanitation policies and procedures
- Experience with dry ice cleaning
- Experience with Good Manufacturing (GMP) and/or Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and move around machinery for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in varying working climates, i.e., temperatures may vary from hot to very cold
