Our client, a remote-friendly gaming startup, is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join their passionate team. This is an exciting opportunity to direct a team building an amazing RPG set in an epic fantasy world!

Responsibilities

Capture/analyze performance data using various profiling/monitoring tools for Unreal Engine 5.2 using tools like Unreal Insights and PIX
• Identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other issues that impact gameplay experience
• Develop/implement performance optimization strategies to improve frame rates, load times, and overall game performance
• Write custom tools/scripts to automate pipeline tasks
• Research, develop, and maintain lighting, skybox, and foliage pipelines
• Collaborate with artists, designers, engineers, etc. to optimize game assets, materials, shaders, and rendering techniques
• Research/stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and techniques
• Provide guidance/recommendations to the team on the best practices for maintaining performance

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a Technical Artist (within game development)
• Experience analyzing performance captures for Unreal Engine 5 (using tools like Unreal Insights and PIX)
• Experience creating tools/scripts to assist in game development and maintenance
• Research/stay updated on the latest industry trends and techniques related to performance monitoring and optimization
• Self-motivated, excellent work ethic, enjoys collaboration
• Stoked on problem-solving
