What you’ll be doing
Pegasus Booking is seeking an experienced full-stack developer to complete the MVP of its travel booking platform. The application enables travelers to search and browse stays and allows dealers to create property listings. Existing core browsing and authentication features are built with Next.js, React, Express, MongoDB, and Chakra UI. This project focuses on completing the booking journey, strengthening marketplace features, refining the desktop experience, and adding test-mode payments.
Responsibilities
The work uses Next.js 13 Pages Router, React 18, Express, REST APIs, MongoDB with Mongoose, JWT and Argon2, Chakra UI, Framer Motion, Axios, and RSuite date picker. Native mobile development, live payment processing, and production DevOps are outside the project scope.
Responsibilities
- Build persisted booking models and REST APIs for creating, viewing, listing, and cancelling reservations, with safeguards against overlapping active bookings.
- Connect the reservation interface to booking APIs and deliver clear validation, error, confirmation, and My Bookings experiences.
- Complete property search and detail APIs, listing forms, dealer ownership controls, and secure authentication and session handling.
- Resolve desktop journey issues, remove or clearly label unfinished navigation features, and improve loading, empty, and error states.
- Apply a consistent Chakra UI design system from approved mockups, including shared layouts, responsive desktop breakpoints, and polished interactions.
- Integrate Stripe or an equivalent provider in test mode; use payment callbacks or webhooks to update booking status only after successful payment.
- Deliver work in milestones, document payment integration points, and verify key booking and payment flows with the employer.

What we’re looking for
- Strong hands-on experience building applications with Next.js and React.
- Ability to develop Node.js and Express REST APIs and design MongoDB/Mongoose schemas.
- Experience implementing booking, reservation, or other stateful transaction workflows, including availability rules and validation.
- Payment integration experience; Stripe is preferred, including test-mode checkout and reliable payment status handling.
- Skill applying a cohesive, responsive UI design system in Chakra UI from supplied mockups.
- Understanding of secure authentication and session practices, including token refresh and protecting sensitive API responses.
- Clear written English, careful testing, and disciplined milestone-based delivery.
- Useful additional experience includes email delivery, image uploads, map embedding, and API or Playwright smoke tests.
