We are currently looking for a Parts Distribution Center Supervisor to join our team in Aurora, IL.
This role will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, and inventory of materials and parts in the Parts Distribution Center.
Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Develops daily and weekly workplans and workflow. Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
Supervises the scheduling, carrier departure and transit times for inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments. Determines routing and legal road limits of vehicles, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
Supervises performance of inventory control functions, including cycle count reconciliation with tracking system. Investigates and resolves discrepancies. Coordinates stock checks and reporting, including inventory transactions and adjustments.
Coordinates dealer return program. Assists in investigation of dealer order issues and investigates or resolves dealer claims of damaged parts. Authorizes and shepherds credits to dealer accounts. Develops and implements process improvements to reduce shipping damage and improve efficiency.
Supervises clerical and administrative functions. Administers vendor bidding, purchase requisition, purchase order submission and follow-up. Supervises accounting processing, bill submission and follow-up, record storage and retention. Ensures that required maintenance of warehouse equipment, facility and grounds are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinates off-site parts and accessories storage.
Optimizes profit by reducing costs through continuous improvement activities and achieving GLCR commitments/targets for their functional area. Seeks out feedback from other stakeholders to improve their operations and drives value.
Minimum Qualifications:
Job Knowledge and Skill: Working knowledge of workflow management, logistics, inventory management, and warehousing functions. Basic understanding of transportation management. Familiarity with federal workplace safety regulations, federal transportation/shipment regulations, environmental protection regulations for hazardous waste and for multi-modal transportation, and international air shipment regulations. Good oral and written communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Good organization and problem solving skills.
Experience: Eight or more years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience.
Supervisory Experience: One to two years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees or contractors.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, etc. to output routine products with similar, non-creative formats.
