Role and Responsibilities
Samsung Networks is seeking a Sr. Director for our Virtualization Platforms, RAN Orchestration and Management Systems Technology Support (TS) Team which supports our network carrier customers through innovative technology road mapping (handling Product Management process for the solutions) and product introduction prior to Samsung General Acceptance (GA). In addition, the team will handle demos/trials for new business opportunities and provide tiered support after the solution deployments. As the Virtualization Leader you will be responsible to support the design and required development related issue raised by Samsung Networks R&D during the development process, and testing prior to GA or testing demos/trials support for the network infrastructure. You will have a unique opportunity to use your existing technical skills and advance those skills to create innovative network designs together with Samsung Networks R&D. You will lead the charge as a technical expert and manage a team of SMEs, Testing and Tiered Support people in the fastest growing area in TS.
Areas of Accountability:
Provides the Customer Account Teams (CATs) with expert technical support in the pre-sales process, creates technical solutions and tests the same in order to help achieve the assigned business objectives for SEA Region.
Communicates technical design considerations between the CATs / customers and Samsung R&D.
Presents the design of technical solutions to customers, when needed.
Has a team to support in technical Q&A with customers for the above listed Samsung's Network’s solutions.
Supports initiatives across multiple levels within customer organizations.
Works with customers and Samsung Networks R&D to facilitate and validate the designs.
Provides ongoing technical support to customers (prior Samsung GA) requiring scalability and growth in their network.
Ensures the technical information and products support customer requirements.
Provides internal technical training for the team, as needed.
Responsible for technical issues for the said solutions and supports non-routine requests from Samsung R&D and customers.
Extensive interaction with our HQ R&D in short term roadmaps, development and testing prior to GA
Provides tiered support for the above solutions as they get deployed to our SEA customer networks.

Technical Expert in driving the Virtualization platform and Orchestration solutions and Management systems to customers and managing the related Team in TS.
Presentations Skills:
Leveraging your ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization, especially with Samsung R&D on initiatives that are important to SEA Region.
Excellence Dealing with Ambiguity
Bringing experience in problem solving and ability to manage the related Team in TS with pivotal shifts
Background/Experience required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; Master’s Degree or Ph. D. Degree a plus
15+ years’ work experience in the telecom industry including recent experience in wireless networks
Knowledge of Virtualization Platform, RAN Orchestration and Management System equipment and technologies, good communication and presentation skills
Prior leadership experience of web based development including JVM, J2EE, (EJB), JAVA, JavaScript, Web Services, HTML, XML, SOAP.
SME in Cloud Native Architecture; strong understanding in managing scalable OpenStack/Kubernetes environments.
Strong knowledge base in Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and virtualization automation and orchestration frameworks (ETSMI MANO specifications, OASIS TOSCA, ONAP)
SME in running systems in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as private data centers.
Ability to coordinate other resources in Samsung Networks’ environment across Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Manufacturing.
Able to analyze, interpret, present and explain the product and development materials.
Successful track record defining direction and providing specific instruction for engineering projects/programs leveraging personal knowledge and organizational skills to increase team efficiency, facilitate personal development and mentor colleagues.
