Position Overview for Business Developer Additive Manufacturing

Siemens Additive Manufacturing plays a key role in the growth of Siemens Digital Industries products by offering solutions for OEM machine builders and end users. Additive Manufacturing enables a shorter time to market, more flexibility, better quality, and higher efficiency. The Digital Industries portfolio includes industry leading software and automation solutions.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with end customers, solution partners, account managers and other colleagues nationally and globally. You will have the flexibility to engage the customers on Siemens behalf and provide consultation as the industry specialist for Additive Manufacturing applications.

Responsibilities:

Develop, Implement and Manage critical initiatives for growth of Siemens share in new or existing markets, in collaboration with Siemens headquarters, the US sales team and other US based departments vital for a successful implementation,

Drive top line sales by working closely with business unit account managers on assigned OEM printer manufacturers and end users.

Maintain internal and external customer data in SiteSales (Salesforce), as well as within the MS Teams environment.

Lead virtual and in person visitors and events at our AM Experience Center in Charlotte, NC.

Prepare periodic reports to summarize pivotal initiative measurers and results for Management

Pre-qualify opportunities for new business, identify suitable growths accounts with chance of success, and assist Siemens Account Managers with initial account penetration / -development

Build and maintain business specific lead-generation campaigns, ideally with tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and use of social media profile-based AI systems; results communication and implementation through Salesforce CRM

Support efforts related to exhibition at tradeshows, Participate in appropriate conferences. Build presentations and demo’s for market impact

Analyze key competitors’ position in the market, Research key competitors’ products, Communicate key information regarding competition to appropriate teams within Siemens, Market share analysis by competitor, Competitor SWOT analysis

Drive operational excellence in collaboration with other teams in the organization.

Coordinates his/her activities self-sufficiently within the organization

Execution: Focuses on execution by leveraging networking and by encouraging collaboration with external and internal stakeholders

Job Specification

Required Knowledge/Skills, and Experience:

  • At least 5 year’s experience in 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing Sales or Business Development.
  • Knowledge of general business functions, including marketing, manufacturing, finance, product development, engineering, sales, and global business aspects
  • Must possess proven track record to work across functions to drive value into market; must have demonstrated ability to drive collaboration and integration with account managers to ensure product roadmaps are aligned with overall market needs and future growth opportunities
  • Ensure overall alignment with market needs by influencing the product portfolio, product placement and position in the market by working with product management
  • Ability to recognize, anticipate and understand technological trends, market requirements, customer requirements and customer needs in the US, also considering global market impact.
  • Show a documented ambitious spirit to drive innovation and market differentiation
  • Possess comprehensive understanding of, and experience in advising strategic pricing decisions based on a balance of market needs, competitiveness, cost position, factory loading considerations and Siemens financial goals and impact
  • Preferred Siemens office location in Charlotte, NC.

Education:

BS/BA in related subject area, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
