Position Summary
The role of the Project Manager II is to successfully manage Thycotic’s large packaged and custom projects through the full project lifecycle, from project kickoff through closeout, including facilitating requirements gathering, kickoff calls/meetings, and managing the scope, schedule, budget, resources and overall delivery for Professional Services Engagements. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for process improvement, is both detail oriented and a strategic thinker, and enjoys collaboration in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
Thycotic Project Managers are the glue of Thycotic engagements, partnering with both clients and internal teams to ensure project success. The Project Manager II is a senior project manager, works closely with consultants, architects, and coordinators in the Professional Services team, and with staff from other departments within Thycotic including Technical Support, Product Management, and Sales. The Project Manager II is leader, responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, and on budget, while provide timely and relevant updates to internal and external stakeholders. The project manager will create and maintain technical project plans outlining tasks, milestones, and deadlines, and will manage resource capacity across a dedicated delivery team.
This position will report to the Director of Project Management. Ideally, the candidate will be located in the DC metro area, however candidates in other US locations will be considered.Key Responsibilities
  • Work with technical consultants and architects from both Thycotic and its services partners.
  • Facilitate services project scoping calls, introductory calls, regular status and other meetings.
  • Create Statements of Work associated with projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources and deliverables from inception to execution.
  • Facilitate and document requirements.
  • Deliver projects in alignment with the Global Professional Service Delivery Methodology framework.
  • Ensure timely kickoff calls with handoff and set clear expectations for each project.
  • Use project management software to create clear project plans, as well as tracking status, risks, and issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and PS leadership to keep all informed about project status, and effectively drive the project and any issue resolution.
  • Work closely with clients’ project managers to ensure that there is a joint understanding of the scope, timeframe, and deliverables of the project, including scope changes.
  • Work closely with the Director of Project Management and larger project management team to align and continually improve processes and methodology.

Skills and Requirements
  • •Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • •PMP, CSM or similar certification is preferred.
  • •5+ years of full-time work experience doing project management work for software or IT companies. Cyber Security Project Management experience is a plus.
  • •Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • •Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • •Proven ability to effectively engage and work with clients, sales, consultants, and other technical roles.
  • •Solid experience with a project management tools such as Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, Trello, etc., Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce.
