Position Summary
We are looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our growing Finance team. The Revenue Accountant will assist the Revenue Manager to ensure accuracy in revenue recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP, timely closing of the monthly books, assist with the annual audits, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. This role will report directly to the Revenue Manager and have exposure to the Billing Manager, Controller, Sales Operations Team, Finance Team, and CFO.
The ideal candidate possesses a solid foundation of corporate accounting experience, a strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to multitask and effectively prioritize daily duties and long-term projects.
This position is located at our DC headquarters and reports to the Revenue Manager.Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Revenue Manager to prepare timely and accurate revenue workpapers for monthly close, including income statement account fluctuation analysis.
• Provide direct support to the billing team regarding standard revenue treatment of day-to-day transactions.
• Participate in critical accounting projects to include the implementation of new system logic or enhancements, and support new product launches to ensure revenue is recognized appropriately.
• Enhance existing processes and controls and monitor and maintain assigned internal controls.
• Identify opportunities for outsourcing and work on automation projects to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close.
• Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders including finance, business and sales operations, and professional services on a variety of projects.
• Support the sales amp; use tax process to ensure proper tax treatment of new products including review of monthly sales tax data for proper tax treatment of our products and provide support as needed.
• Prepare schedules and reports in support of the annual financial statement audit.
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc analysis.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 1-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably at a public company.
• Experience in applying revenue accounting guidance (ASC 606) for SaaS companies a plus.
• Hands-on system experience and knowledge of Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and/or Avalara a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; with advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
