The Anthos/K8S Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups. The candidate that will fit best into a Google Cloud Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in the design and development of business applications and have a knowledge of deploying and managing those on Kubernetes. The Solutions Architect will design futuristic solutions with currently available technology and take responsibility for the quality of the solution. The Anthos/K8S Solutions Architect will work with Rackspace’s sales teams to understand the customers’ business and technical service level objectives and then design solutions that leverage existing supported K8S technologies. Where existing solutions do not exist, the Solutions Architect will work with product management and product engineering to help implement new standards and new processes that allows Rackspace to solve for the customer’s needs. This role will be primarily focused on supporting a single large customer with occasional assistance being provided to help peers on other opportunities and customers. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:The Specialty Architect role is a specialized technical knowledge role that can quickly learn new concepts. The ideal candidate for a K8S/Anthos Solutions Architect Role is an industry contributor that has previously worked with Kubernetes and Anthos and will meet the following requirements:· Maintain strong working knowledge of the CNCF Kubernetes projects. · Maintain a strong knowledge of the Google Cloud portfolio and the Rackspace services that support the Google Cloud platform · Have experience with Kubernetes architecture and configuration best practices and guidelines. · Bring strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently create solutions and work with others on a team. · Experienced in using CI/CD tools and RESTful API’s. · Have familiarity with programming and architectural frameworks. · Have strong written and oral communication skills and be adept in time management and organizational skills. · Ability to prioritize customer opportunities, training, and initiatives through highly effective time management.· Excellent problem solving, analytical, presentation, and whiteboarding skills.· Have a strong understanding of the SRE practice concepts and Google Cloud services such as GCE, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Bigtable, BigQuery, BORG cluster architecture, Colossus, Anthos (GKE), and other Google services.JOB COMPLEXITY:The role of a K8S/Anthos Solutions Architect is extensive. The K8S/Anthos Solutions Architects will lead customer workshops to educate customers on specific technologies and concepts. The K8S/Anthos Architects are a supplemental point of escalation on highly specialized and high-profile customer engagements that require advanced guidance to sales and solutions engineers on specific technologies or concepts. The K8S/Anthos Solutions Architect is expected to be a trusted advisor that conducts deep-dive customer sessions to translate existing customer workflows into the K8S/Anthos ecosystem and then overcome customer concerns. Finally, the K8S/Anthos Solutions Architect is charged with influencing the business unit’s roadmap by interacting with product managers, product engineers, support, and senior business unit leaders where the K8S/Anthos Solutions Architect presents customer needs and proposed product changes that help maintain Rackspace solutions as the superior services provider.Experience / Education :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business is preferred.
• 4+ years of solutions engineering experience or experience working as a solutions architect working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Openstack, Azure, Google, etc.
• Sales training; advanced technical training across multiple technologies within a single domain (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc.).
• At least TWO industry certifications required: Linux+, Azure, AWS, RHCSA, RHCE, MC
