ABOUT THE ROLE
The Actuarial Analyst will provide technical support to the Government Programs Actuarial team on project work, modeling, filing and Medicaid/Medicare Advantage Bids and Direct Contracting filings to HCCI. Additional cross-functional support role working with Line of Business, Analytics, Finance, Marketing and other areas of the company that may need data summarization, modeling framework or research help.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Actuarial Analyst will provide technical support to the Government Programs Actuarial team on project work, modeling, filing and Medicaid/Medicare Advantage Bids and Direct Contracting filings to HCCI. Additional cross-functional support role working with Line of Business, Analytics, Finance, Marketing and other areas of the company that may need data summarization, modeling framework or research help.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Actuarial team on all Government Programs project work related to complex trends while also interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Support Actuarial team during Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Bid season as well as support on DCE filings, interfacing with internal Bright team and external consulting actuaries
- Support Finance team in the development of forecasting models, projections and relevant information to inform C-Level business decisions
- Support the team through modeling, market analysis and experience to determine company growth initiatives; support the team by conducting research and data analysis, and with informed profitable cohorts and renewal targets
- Pull data and populate the monthly reserve triangles for the Gov Programs products and work alongside the Line of Business Actuary and Gov Programs VP of Actuarial to set final reserves
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis using Excel, SAS, SQL and Tableau
- Work with consulting actuaries on product pricing and various other analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field required
- Experience working with health care data and/or modeling work with Medicare Advantage products is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office products
- Experience with forecasting, modeling, SQL and SAS
- Working knowledge of healthcare Bid process for Medicare Advantage
- Understanding of company practices related to management of member populations for purposes of estimating risk
- Produce, understand, and interpret internal and external analysis and reports; provide effective technical and non-technical support to internal and external stakeholders
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries is preferred, but not required
