The Ramp;D role will be responsible for driving NGS development project that include COVID variants, inherited disease, and full Exome testing. This is a high-impact / high-growth role that has enormous potential to grow within the organization.
Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Search and studies the literature to introduce new areas of testing and provide experimental design for new assay development
- Provide operational and strategic technical guidance for initiating and implementing research and development programs, including proper planning, resource allocation, control, and completion
- Develop and optimize Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) assays for use in a high throughput clinical laboratory.
- Project manage development and validation procedures to ensure they meet CAP/CLIA requirements
- Review and sign off on validation summaries to ensure they contain data to support clinical decision making
- Provide support during tech-transfer of new assay into the high-throughput production lab. Design and execute experiments for process improvement of current assay in clinical production
- Identify areas where testing can be optimized to enhance test performance, throughput, or clinical accuracy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Desired - PhD or foreign degree in genetics or a related field plus at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Accepting Master's degree in genetics or related field plus 3 years of experience
- Experienced in PCR, qPCR, NGS DNA and RNA work
