Job Description

LetsGetChecked is a leading at-home health testing company, with a platform that allows consumers to discover and access personalised health information conveniently, confidentially and accurately. We empower people to take an active role in their health to live longer, happier lives. LetsGetChecked was founded in 2015 and has corporate offices located in New York City and Dublin.

The Research and Development Scientist is a new role within the LetsGetChecked Labs Team, and it will report directly into our Director of Ramp;D. We are looking for three scientists, each specialising in a certain area (See additional requirements below) and one more senior person in a managerial capacity.

The primary purpose of this position is to research, organize and implement new assays and methodologies as well as improve current testing. Writes technical procedures (Validation amp; SOP documents) for transition into the clinical lab.

Responsibilities

Position will, research, design, and execute aspects of development and validation/verification of new assays or assay improvements for the clinical laboratory.

Maintain knowledge of new and/or emerging technologies for potential application(s).

Conduct literature reviews and reports for new assay planning or improvement.

Write comprehensive analytical protocols, development plans, and validation/verification plans.

Critical evaluation and interpretation of experimental results.

Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with department, company, and regulatory body’s regulations.

Effectively prioritizes projects and tasks and demonstrates productive time management skills.

Works with Production management and CLS Supervisors to implement new assays or assay improvements.

Provide support for validation of new equipment, processes, and methods.



Requirements

Education:

Required - Bachelor's Degree or better in Life Sciences or related field.

Preferred - Master's Degree or better in Life Sciences or related field or PhD or better in Life Sciences or related field.

Experience:

Required - 2+ years of relevant technical laboratory experience

Preferred - 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience with 2+ years of experience conducting clinical assay development under CLIA/CAP regulations.

2+ years of experience designing and developing RT-PCR assays

OR

ELISA

2+ years of experience designing and developing ELISA assays

Manager

5+ years managing a team to design and develop new clinical assays
