POSITION: LEAD ENGINEER Cloud and Software Architect

LOCATION: TITUSVILLE, FL, ATLANTA, GA, NORTHERN VA, or HUNTSVILLE, AL (CURRENTLY REMOTE)

PredaSAR is currently seeking a Lead Engineer Cloud and Software Architect. The ideal candidate will have mid-level experience and a track record of performance in Cloud DevSecOps, data, and software architectures for a space organization. The Lead Engineer will report to the Director, Systems Engineering. This position is an incredible opportunity for an engineer to shape the outcome of a major commercial space capability and continue to grow professionally in a great company.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Your primary responsibility is to lead the effort to design, implement, and test the PredaSAR Enterprise software, data storage, and processing architectures in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to evaluate commercial products and services that could support the PredaSAR Enterprise; communicate the trades, costs, and merits of each.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and mission partners to develop, implement, and verify interfaces that support Enterprise workflows: customer order and delivery; mission applications; data storage and transport; modeling and simulation; and vendor software.
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and verify interfaces that enable Enterprise data and storage functions; automated operations; mission assurance; cybersecurity; machine intelligence to conduct performance analysis; and integrated autonomous resolution procedures.
  • Write code; develop APIs; maintain up-to-date and streamlined documentation of all code, development environment, software interfaces, execution procedures, testing practices, and all other software interdependencies, functions, and features.
  • Establish standard operating procedures that support mission assurance, risk mitigation, and contingency plans to assure required mission up time for all ground activities.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators, metrics, data analytics, and approaches to monitor the performance and health of the enterprise ground architecture.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Ideally, 8+ years professional experience in cloud hosted data and application engineering
  • Experience developing capabilities in Amazon GovCloud (US) and/or Microsoft Azure Government Cloud Computing High (GCC-High) cloud environments.
  • Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration and organizational skills in technical amp; operational areas
  • Impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to self-govern with minimum supervision, establish workload priorities, and to utilize efficient time management practices to achieve assigned tasks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

ADDITIONAL DIFFERENTIATORS:

  • Master’s degree in science, engineering, math, or a related field
  • Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Knowledge of space domain and architectures for space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience in cybersecurity design principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of standards for geospatial intelligence data and products
  • Recent experience supporting U.S. defense or intelligence customers
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics in a clear and compelling fashion
  • Familiarity with policies, standards, and regulations of the US government as well as current state of practice in the space industry for satellite operations architectures

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This position requires the candidate to have a current background investigation that enables adjudication to hold a TS/SCI security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
