About the Position:
The Data Architect is a member of our PlatformONE analytics team, responsible for the architecture of our Analytics Platform, which provides insight into network usage and performance at thousands of locations across North America. The engineer must be knowledgeable of modern data lake, warehouse, and pipeline technologies, and be able to deal with high volume data sources. The engineer will work on an Agile team, following standard Agile development processes, and work closely with Product Management to design and develop new real-time dashboards and reports required by our customers. Experience with the networking industry is preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work on an Agile team to design and develop data structures from high volume data sources that support real-time dashboards and reports.
- Monitor and maintain our data warehouse environment, which is based on Snowflake
- Collaborate with customers and functional experts to understand technical requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical degree
- 5 years of experience with modern data warehouse, preferably Snowflake
- Proficiency with SQL, and experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience with managing high-volume data sets, and data pipelines such as dbt, Airflow and AWS Glue
- Experience with cloud-based technologies in AWS, such as EventBridge, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, and IoT.
- Experience with Java or Python
- Experience with or knowledge of the networking industry is preferred.
