Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Job Description
We are looking to hire a Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to create and maintain the next generation a microservice platform and support our existing platform. As the Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will be collaborating with development engineers while using innovative cloud technologies and processes to build container-based application stacks and manage cloud infrastructure clusters for the customers. You will be working on optimal deployment configurations, lead new project infrastructure setup, provide mentorship and leadership to an onshore and offshore team of cloud and devops engineers while providing ongoing operational support. The ideal candidate must have experience in AWS hosting patterns including container/EC2 based hosting, served as a technical team lead, be detail-oriented, possess strong business acumen, have strong communication skills, and be driven to succeed.

- Self-starter and solutions-oriented with the ability to adapt to change with ease while
- working with multiple onsite and offshore teams.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing new secure and highly available AWS hosting solutions for new applications using AWS VPC, VPN, EC2, ECS (Fargate), S3,
- CloudFront, ELB, DNS, RDS, CloudWatch, Lambda and more.
- Lead effort to create an "Infrastructure as Code strategy leading to automated provisioning and management of all AWS resources.
- Extensive experience in managing EC2 based infrastructure setup along with patch and upgrade management.
- Extensive experience establishing network connectivity between AWS and external
- networks using VPN (IpSec) and other methodologies.
- Experience working with Software / DevSecOps engineers to support build and deployment of applications into AWS EC2, ECS (Fargate), and S3 via CI/CD processes.
- Experience implementing SSO solutions that use oAuth, OIDC, and SAML to secure container based microservices and provide seamless single sign on with external entities.
- Experience implementing and managing cloud based relational and document databases at scale for SaaS based systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze new technologies and determine the optimal AWS hosting solutions to meet the organization's objectives with optimal costs
- Expertise with monitoring, logging, security, data integrity, concurrency, and other issues and practices related to distributed systems.
- Experience in scripting languages (Python, Shell, AWS CLI, Ruby etc.).
- Understanding of version control systems (GitHub, GitLab etc.), including branching and merging strategies.
- Experience managing global and application properties on enterprise or AWS SaaS hosted platforms.
- Ability to lead both onshore and offshore Cloud/DevOps engineers to ensure completion of projects, tasks, and ensure adherence to the organization's standards.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum methodology team environment with a people-centered mindset with a desire to develop trust and credibility in the team.
- Manage the annual review process by providing goals, rating, and reviews for cloud and devops engineers.
Required Skills:
- Experience in creating new hosting solutions using AWS cloud services such as EC2, VPC, VPN, Security Groups, CloudFront, Cloud Watch, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudFront, S3, RDS, ECR, ECS, Docker, API Gateway etc. (Ansible, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet will be plus)
- Experience in Jenkins, Sonar, GitHub/GitLab
- Excellent UNIX/LINUX tools/utilities, scripting, and basic administration skills
- Familiar with both NoSQL (Mongo/Redis) and RDBM (MySQL or other) systems.
- Cloud based networking including VPN, Direct Connect, and sFTP between VPCs, Colo
- Data Centers, and customer networks.
- Familiarity with the Windows services will be a plus (LDAP, RDP, Azure etc.)
Education
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
