The Role

We are seeking a Director of Sales to create and capitalize on traction with US Defense and Security customers. Candidates should have the humble confidence, integrity, energy and experience to drive revenue growth in the service of missions critical to the US Government. Based in our Northern Virginia office but with work-from-home flexibility, the position will be supported by technical and business experts from across the ICEYE organization. This is a rare opportunity to join a passionate team and have significant influence over our growth trajectory in the US.

Responsibilities:

  • With a high degree of autonomy, cultivate and close on opportunities leading to valuable commitments and contracts with US Defense and Security markets; achieve revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain trust with key customers and communities.
  • Address customer needs by demonstrating the discriminating capabilities of the ICEYE product portfolio in a compelling, holistic way
  • Partner with and position the broader team to win. Collaborate within the sales organization to sharpen capabilities and approach, work cross-functionally (engineering, operations, finance, etc) to ensure awareness, alignment, realistic forecasting, and resource provisioning for pursuits. Provide critical customer feedback to drive product development and innovation.
  • Face into challenges, lead by example, go above and beyond with persistence, urgency and determination to deliver results

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of sales success against recent, specific and measurable targets with US Defense and Security customers including hands-on, end-to-end management of pursuits.
  • Relationships with key US Defense and Security customers based on recent collaboration for projects involving the use of earth observation data/solutions/missions.
  • Must be US citizen
  • Current Top Secret clearance or ability/willingness to pursue a security clearance
  • Experience in the aerospace ecosystem with particular insight to earth observation value chain and SAR products/services
  • Ability to craft holistic win strategy with deep understanding of competitive landscape
  • Familiarity with modern presentation tools and techniques; comfort with technical presentations; ability to distill complex topics to readily-understood proposals delivered to individuals and groups, from senior decision makers to working level collaborators
  • Ability to travel within the United States (up to 50%) and occasionally abroad
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field

Preferred Skills amp; Experience:

  • Extensive, current network of decision makers, influencers and stakeholders within the US Defense and Security community of GEOINT acquirers and users.
  • Experience as end-user of SAR data and/or solutions
  • Direct experience with US Government acquisition processes and contractual mechanisms (B2G)
  • Strong creative and technical writing skills, as well as excellent verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup/scaleup environment
  • Based in Northern Virginia / greater DC area (preferred)
