Online shopping has changed. Today’s eCommerce runs on selling products, not brands. SamCart is the first e-commerce platform built from the ground up for direct-to-consumer brands. By focusing on the product level, and not the store level, our customers can create beautiful sites that showcase their products, convert visitors into customers, and increase the value of each purchase.
SamCart is looking for a creative, passionate, and experienced designer to be a founding member of our Product Design Team. This role will be cross-functional requiring excellent collaboration skills to interface with Product, Engineering, and Marketing. You’ll get your hands dirty in all steps of product discovery and delivery. You’ll apply a full range of skills from strategic thinking, user journey mapping, and product design to partnering with our product managers, data scientists, and engineers to own the user experience of new features from ideation until launch. You will own the user experience (UX) of a variety of products. We are looking for a strong visual voice and a conceptual thinker who can articulate design directions clearly and convincingly while also having a willingness to execute that vision through individual contributions.
As a founding member of the Product Design Team, you will have the opportunity to drive product strategy and key decision making.
Requirements
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, and marketing teams to drive forward design vision, to ensure a unified, state of the art, and world-class user experience and user interface for all web and mobile products from start to finish.
- Create simple and intuitive experiences by distilling product requirements and user goals into sketches, wireframes, and prototypes and continuously iterating to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with brand and product teams to drive forward visual style and consistency.
- Contribute to and help evolve our design system and individually contribute on an array of projects that use our design system.
- Own end-to-end user journey and all aspects of design execution from ideation, to prototyping, to user testing, to final production.
Responsibilities:
- 3+ years of professional experience designing web and mobile applications
- A portfolio of awesome UX/UI design that displays your strategy and process
- A solid capacity for simplifying complexity and ability to create successful UIs and workflows
- Experience in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment
- Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions
- Experience conducting user research and analysis
- Ability to make complex topics, ideas, and tasks clear and easy to understand
- Proficiency with a variety of design tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
