Since 1996 we have specialized in providing a full range of services from Network amp; Security, UNIX/Linux amp; Windows Engineering, System amp; Database Administration, Help Desk Support, VoIP Support and maintain IT infrastructures for our clients which are made up of small to medium-sized enterprises. We are looking for highly passionate desktop support professionals that can help elevate our MSP services and drive the growth and success of our company.

Who You Are:

You are a seasoned highly technical IT Operations Manager with a strong proven background working for a professional services company who provides managed services to variety of clients with varying technical environments. You are the head of a department and you are used to managing the Systems Team which is made up of Systems Engineers, Systems Administrators, User Support Team, Customer Success team and Junior Systems Administrators.

So here is the Job:

This is a new position, to be located at our corporate offices in Milpitas, CA. corporate offices. The Technical Consulting Manager's job consists of three primary buckets. Administrative Management, Employee Management and Development and hands on Technical SME responsibilities. You are responsible for working with our internal department leaders to staff a project and work with the customer to set the direction of the project and establish/maintain deliverables while maintaining profitable utilization metrics. The role requires the ability to pull detailed data, analyze it, and provide recommendations based on their understanding of the processes, people and/or system(s) they are working with. Because you are highly technical, you oversee our company’s hardware, software and computer networks. Your operations Manager responsibilities include monitoring network infrastructure and resolving system issues. You need to have experience with IT performance management, network administration and system security. If you’re also familiar with data protection regulations and able to juggle multiple projects, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable for all of our clients.


Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize local company networks and servers
  • Be responsible for device and password management
  • Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, firewalls)
  • Manage installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software
  • Assess system performance and recommend improvements
  • Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers
  • Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and company guidelines
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders via help desk
  • Control costs and budgets regarding IT systems
  • Manage contracts with vendors (e.g. development platforms, telecommunication companies, password managers) and software licenses
  • Develop IT policies and practices
  • Manage information technology and computer systems
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures

Requirements

  • Proven experience as IT Operations Systems Manager
  • Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing
  • Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR)
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, IT or relevant field
  • Expertise in data centre management and data governance
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Ability to manage personnel
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
