Job Description

Position Summary

The Program Planning Specialist will be responsible to work with Director of Samsung Networks Engineering Services Group Program Management to provide for financial planning, tracking and reporting, staffing planning, tracking, and reporting, asset planning, tracking, and reporting, operational support on day-to-day activities for the group, and management support. The position will be required to prepare reports and work with Corporate Finance to assure that all ES programs are within approved budgets or constraints. The job requires a highly motivated person that can interface and work well across multiple levels and groups within Samsung.

Role and Responsibilities

Financial Planning: Support Annual Budget Planning. Perform Monthly and Annual Financial Tracking and Reports working with Networks Finance Department and assist Engineering Services track monthly expenditures. Assistance with PUMI submission and approvals. Perform Capital Planning, tool and asset procurement and administration, and interfacing with the Finance and Vendor Management groups for special funding and project requests

Program Support: Assist in program definition development based on Customer Account Team (CAT) scope. Includes working across all ES teams to size staffing and assets for proposals and then to translate into firm financial plans upon award.

Operations: Staffing and Resource planning and reporting including working with HR for creation, administration, tracking and status reports of new position requisitions for Contractors, RFTs, and Independent Contractors.

Program Management: Assist the ES Program Managers as required. Support would include staffing plans, program schedules, milestone tracking, and other program items.

Job Specification

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance is a plus

Minimum 1 year experience in Budgeting, Staffing Planning, or Project Coordination

Experience working with technical people (engineers) in a technology company is a requirement

Financial Reporting and Tracking Practices a plus

Telecommunications experience is a plus

Familiarity with SEA organization and ways of working is a plus

Skills / Attributes:

Strong Proficiency in using Microsoft tool set (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) primarily with Excel and database manipulation. Microsoft Access Proficiency a plus

Positive attitude, self-motivation and persistence are keys to success in this role

Ability to motivate others and help foster a team environment

Capability to work and manage work hours with minimum supervision required - highly motivated and self-driven

Capability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments to meet critical customer needs

Excellent skills in oral and written communications

Comfortable with a highly dynamic and changing work environment

Flexibility to work non-standard hours when required (may require work after normal hours or on weekends for critical deliveries)
