Summary:
This individual, reporting to the CFO, will serve as the company’s Investor Relations leader and will be the primary person to direct the company’s interaction and communications with all existing and potential shareholders. The Vice President, Investor Relations, will work closely with the CEO and align with other internal management partners to communicate the company’s strategic, commercial, and financial objectives to the broader investment community and relay feedback from investors about the perception of the company’s performance and strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Wall Street, including institutional investors, individual investors, sell-side analysts, and exchange representatives
- Direct ongoing dialogue with the investment community
- Collaborate with CEO, CFO, and senior executives to devise external communication strategy relating to material, corporate actions (earnings, guidance, strategic transactions, etc.)
- Collaborate with marketing and commercial organization to communicate product and market strategy to Wall Street
- Manage relationships and coordinate activities of outside investor/public relations consultants
- Manage quarterly earnings calls, including writing of earnings releases, conference call scripts, Qamp;As, etc.
- Manage and monitor investment research on the company and industry peers
- Maintain and communicate competitive intelligence and analysis on all industry peers to senior management
- Convey sentiment and feedback from the investment community to senior management
- Manage the company’s participation in investment conferences, including preparation of external presentations and designation of 1on1 meetings
- Manage the company’s quarterly non-deal roadshow activities, including all geographic and account-specific targeting, presentations, and utilization of the sell-side
- Organize and manage analyst targeted events, including Analyst/Ramp;D day, bus tours, etc.
- Manage the investor relations portion of the company’s website
- Provide Regulation FD and general communications training to all designated company spokespersons
- Other investor relations and corporate communications activities as appropriate
Requirements
Education, Experience, Skills:
- Minimum 15 years of experience with at least five years of investor relations at a life sciences company or in the investment community
- Well versed in filings and compliance with the SEC
- Deep understanding of capital markets and financing strategies
- Ability to digest, communicate, and respond to questions about complex scientific and clinical data from sophisticated investment community stakeholders
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- The flexibility of thinking that allows one to juggle multiple priorities and change course in a fast-paced environment
- Sound judgment, integrity, and a commitment to high ethical standards
- Excellent computer skills (particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
Bachelor's degree in finance or business combined with life sciences, marketing, or communications is preferable; MBA or Ph.D. preferred
Travel: Domestically and internationally 20%
