Job Description

The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Credit Analyst in the Phoenix, AZ area. The candidate will analyze sources of financial information, such as reporting services, credit bureaus, and other companies to determine profitability of loans.

The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $65K and a full benefits program. (This is not a remote position.)

Sr. Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing credit data to estimate the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to firms or individuals.
  • Reviewing credit data to evaluate commercial loan requests for the Loan officer to approve or deny applications.
  • Performing analysis of financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns to evaluate the financial position of the borrower and/or guarantor(s).
  • May recommend loan terms and/or pricing structures to commercial lenders.
  • Preparing evaluation of Borrower’s/Guarantor(s) ability to pay.
  • Assisting loans officers in gathering information by ordering credit reports through Experian along with UCC Pre-Searches.
  • Contributing to the department by taking the initiative to assist co-workers.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings, suggesting productivity improvements by being proactive in problem resolution.
  • Performing various administrative office-related duties as needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Five or more years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the loan analysis and underwriting functions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain the confidentiality of information, as appropriate.
  • Practical working knowledge of financial statement analysis.
  • A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and effective judgment skills.
