Job Description
Our client is seeking to fill a Senior Accountant role in the greater Houston, TX market. The position is responsible for monitoring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Company procedures. The Senior Accountant will be assisting in multiple tasks in connection with accounting and the monthly closing and consolidation process.
The opportunity has a generous salary of up to $65K.
Senior Accountant responsibilities include:
- Ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP.
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Assisting in audit preparation.
- Thinking critically and increasing productivity by developing automated applications, eliminating duplications, and coordinating information requirements.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Interacting with customers or vendors, as necessary.

You also bring the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Five or more years’ accounting experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and master new accounting systems.
- Proven ability to communicate information to co-workers and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage work in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current accounting practices.
- Advanced organization skills as well as analytical and problem-solving abilities.
