Job Description

The primary role of the Solidworks Documentation Specialist is to work with Product Development, Technical Services (Mfg), and Quality Assurance teams developing accurate and complete engineering quality documentation, including part libraries, components, assemblies, sketches, and notes used in cGMP combination product manufacturing.

Requirements

Education and Training

  • Certificate or Associate Degree in Computer Drafting amp; Design. Minimum requirement of a Solidworks training certificate from an accredited school.
  • In lieu of degree requirement, 2+ years as a CAD (Solidworks) draftsperson is acceptable
  • Must be proficient with SolidWorks 2014 or later version software including a solid foundation of working with device development assemblies and free form modeling.

Skills / Abilities:

  • Ability to translate concepts into images, and modify existing designs.
  • Ability to review documentation from engineers to determine critical design dimensions.
  • Ability to perform calculations to determine nominal dimensions and tolerances of components used in CAD models and engineer sketches.
  • Ability to check designs and documents against related components and documents for accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Assist engineers in the application of drafting standards and organization of document change orders.
  • Must be conversant with relevant standards and design methodologies for device design systems.
  • Ability to reverse engineer and draw parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to create detailed drawings for fabrication of parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to prioritize work to align with deadlines and project milestone dates.
  • Ability to adapt and function in an environment of changing priorities often under tight time constraints.

Other Items:

  • Qualified candidates should have 1 -3 years of relevant CAD/Solidworks drafting experience.
  • Qualified candidates should have Knowledge of SolidWorks 2014 or later versions.
  • Qualified candidates should have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
