Job Description

About us

Pliancy is fundamentally changing the way businesses value technology by empowering the next evolution of IT leadership. We provide white-glove consulting solutions to life science and finance organizations. Our employees and clients find that we’re starkly different from other IT organizations because we challenge the status quo in two major ways: by putting people first in every decision we make, and by innovating towards simplicity and sustainability. Whether streamlining a client’s race to a cancer cure or securing the fine details of data integrity, we’re driven to help people.

And as a people-first company that invests in the long-term success of our employees, we’re looking for creative thinkers who like to solve interesting problems. We have a culture of mentorship, and prioritize curiosity and empathy in our hiring decisions.

Why work with us?
  • Clients solving challenging problems with meaningful purpose
  • Top-of-their-game peers who have fun with what they do and take teamwork seriously
  • Rapid company growth (75% year over year) with opportunity to see the impact of your efforts on the company
  • Flexible schedule designed to empower your communication and time management skills
  • Great culture driven by empathetic people (we really do treat our people as family)
  • Benefits and perks built to meaningfully support you and your family while we grow together

About the Role

TechOps engineers are force multipliers that provide critical high-level support to Pliancy consultants. It's a strategically important position that helps us guarantee an expedited and satisfactory solution to complex client problems. They also help with new systems deployments, upgrades, and general maintenance. Because of this, TechOps engineers are expected to bring a broad range of technical skills to bear and continuously improve their technical knowledge. They are required to have an in-depth understanding of Pliancy's most important systems and services, as well as extremely well-refined research and troubleshooting skills.

An Average Day

You’ll spend most of your time helping our consultants. That help ranges from being a sounding board while they work through a difficult problem, to configuring a new identity integration for a line of business application, and everything in between. When not working directly with consultants, you will be working on tasks and projects that support Pliancy’s IT infrastructure. You will develop best practices if they don’t exist yet, apply them if they do, and look for ways to simplify and automate away the mundane.

Through it all, you and your team are the gurus of technical best practices and support for our consulting teams throughout the country.

Who We Are Looking For

A technology mentor, problem solver, and communicator. Someone who sees a recurring problem and will try to break the cycle with automation if possible, processes if it can’t be automated, and documentation every time. Someone who asks why and will challenge assumptions. Someone who circles back after reaching a solution to find the lessons to be learned.

Responsibilities

  • Resolving technical escalations and IT requests from the Pliancy team
  • Preventative maintenance of Pliancy systems
  • Reviewing adherence to best practices on a per-customer basis
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for common issues, best practices, and standard processes
  • Mentoring teammates on technical solutions and troubleshooting

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 3+ years of IT operations experience
  • MacOS and Windows experience
  • Incredible sense of pride and passion for what you do and a desire to help your teammates
  • Aptitude (Ability to learn new technologies quickly)
  • Troubleshooting (Ability to work through issues methodically)
  • Ability amp; willingness to properly document processes
  • Administrator experience with cloud based services (Microsoft 365 / Box / Dropbox / Egnyte and others)
  • Strong understanding of computer networking fundamentals
  • Must be able to work a Pacific Time schedule
  • Authorization to work in USA for any employer
