Role:
The Integration and Test team is responsible for building and testing Capella spacecraft. We are responsible for the entire manufacturing life cycle from receiving parts, to producing full spacecraft, to final integration with the launch vehicle at various facilities around the world. The team’s focus is on quality, efficiency, traceability, and repeatability with the goal of producing rigorously tested satellites capable of surviving the harsh environment of space. Team members help support critical testing campaigns like vibration, thermal vacuum, and launch-base testing.
We seek to push boundaries and solve challenging problems where there aren’t known answers. Learning to be comfortable with uncertainty and taking the initiative are key skills for success. The team values and always strives to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment where supporting each other, teaching, and learning are our core principleswe tackle our challenges together.
As a Testbed Engineer, you will create, maintain, and enhance our hardware testbeds relied upon by the rest of the engineering and space operations teams. Our testbeds range from single-subsystem assemblies to full satellite proxies. These testbeds provide representative environments to develop new capabilities or root-cause on-orbit anomalies. The testbed engineering team is responsible for maintaining an inventory of harnesses and assemblies, developing requirements for improved simulation hardware and software tools to enhance automated testing capability, maintaining configuration control of assets, managing the creation of additional testbeds as needed, and managing the ground software deployment configurations that allow operators to remotely exercise all the features of that testbed. As part of this role, you will assist with spacecraft operations activities such as end-to-end testing and dress-rehearsals for critical on-orbit activities.
