Job Description
Mailgun is currently seeking a hardworking Sr. Financial Analyst to join our FPamp;A team! In this role you will be responsible for solving complex business problems spanning a wide range of cross-functional business activities, including deep analytics, insight building, and business recommendations with a heavy focus on revenue and identification of key drivers in order to assist senior management in the decision making process. Additional responsibilities include being the go to person for preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and reports. The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding analytical abilities, critical thinking, a steadfast and intellectual curiosity, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Build and maintain detailed driver based financial forecasts with an integrated set of assumptions and metrics.
- Support the financial budgeting and forecasting cycle by partnering with business leaders.
- Act as a valued business partner by providing informed, proactive analysis and business insights to enable effective decision-making and efficient resource utilization.
- Drive the consolidation and reporting of financial results and metrics to be included in the monthly board reporting package.
- Partner with accounting to provide explanation and support of variances of budget vs. actual to identify business growth opportunities and cost savings on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Deliver highly detailed analyses to business leadership and upper management utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborate with peers to complete special projects while effectively managing multiple priorities.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of applicable experience in FPamp;A, corporate finance or analytics.
- Master of financial modeling in Excel.
- High degree of autonomy, self-motivation, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to balance attention to detail with expeditious execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Preferred
- Technology/SaaS industry experience a plus
- Experience with Salesforce, Netsuite, and/or financial planning tools
