We are seeking a Senior Scientist, Screening, to be part our drug discovery team. This role entails playing a leading, hands on, role in developing and transitioning assays from well plates to the company’s high-throughput, high-content DelPhe discovery platform and thereby providing high quality data to make actionable decisions in Chemistry. As such, this role requires seamless integration with Engineering and drug discovery project teams. Mentoring of less experienced colleagues and interfacing with external collaborators will also be expected.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Broad and deep laboratory experience in designing and implementing high throughput assays (both biochemical and high content) and efficiently reducing them to practice.
- Demonstrated ability to develop multiplexed immunofluorescence assays and application of RNAseq to drug discovery.
- Proven ability to configure mass spectrometry based and biophysical assays.
- Excellent scientific problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing innovative solutions.
- Exemplary communication and collaboration skills, ability to work and lead as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, innovative environment, delivering to project priorities and deadlines.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Design, development and validation of robust, sensitive assays for Plexium’s DelPhe platform.
- Implementation of validation assays for HTS hits.
- Analysis and interpretation of complex data sets.
- Manage priorities and deadlines to achieve corporate goals.
- Actively contribute to establishing a seamless working interface with colleagues from other departments through a collaborative and flexible approach.
- Ensure assays translate from well plates to picowells and back.
- Innovate around further uses for the picowell platform, enabling drug discovery.
