Job Description

Plexium is a San Diego-based targeted protein degradation drug discovery company that is developing novel therapeutics. We are committed to fostering innovation and encouraging cross-functional collaboration and support the growth and development of our team members. Plexium’s biology group is seeking a highly motivated, creative bachelor’s/master’s level associate to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the discovery of novel targeted protein degradation therapeutics for cancer. The candidate will support the development of small molecule immuno-oncology agents and will be involved in bench work, laboratory studies and the coordination of research projects. The associate will have a background in immunology/cancer biology and will work closely with team members in our research programs.

Requirements

• BS with at least 3+ years or MS with 0+ years research experience in the field of immunology, molecular biology or cancer biology

• A strong background in cell culture is essential. The candidate must have experience working with primary human immune cells (NK and T cells) and culturing multiple cell lines including tumor cell lines used in immuno-oncology research

• Hands-on experience with functional assays measuring cellular activation, cytokine release, proliferation and tumor cell killing

• Multi-parameter flow cytometry and proficiency in FACS data analysis programs

• Experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR technologies, and genetic manipulation using CRISPR, siRNA or shRNA

• Outstanding problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment


Responsibilities:

• Support preclinical development of novel therapies

• Studies may include work with molecular cloning, tissue culture, cell isolation from blood products, and cell separation

• Plan and execute flow cytometry-based assays characterization of cellular products

• Plan and execute in vitro cell based immunoassays
