We are seeking a Scientist, Screening, to be part our drug discovery team. This role entails playing a hands on role in developing and transitioning assays from well plates to the company’s high-throughput, high-content DelPhe discovery platform and thereby providing high quality data to make actionable decisions in Biology and Chemistry. As such, this role requires seamless integration with Engineering and drug discovery project teams.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Requisite Qualifications - BS/MS degree plus at least 2 years’ industrial drug discovery experience (i.e. the biotech or pharmaceutical industry laboratory)
- Laboratory experience in designing and implementing high throughput assays (primarily high content) and efficiently reducing them to practice
- Demonstrated ability to develop multiplexed immunofluorescence assays and application of RNAseq to drug discovery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of implementing innovative solutions
- Exemplary communication and collaboration skills, ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, innovative environment, delivering to project priorities and deadlines
- Ability to actively contribute in scientific discussions with colleagues from other departments through a collaborative and flexible approach
- Skills necessary to ensure assays translate from well plates to picowells and back
- Ability to identify further uses for the picowell platform, enabling drug discovery
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Development and validation of robust, sensitive assays for Plexium’s DelPhe platform, both immunofluorescence and RNAseq based
- Ability to generate experiments, gather data, analyze and present conclusions to the team
- Actively contribute to scientific discussions with colleagues from other departments through a collaborative and flexible approach
- Innovate around further uses for the picowell platform, enabling drug discovery.
