Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer (IE) who is excited to play a crucial role in scaling up Huckberry’s Operations to support sustained, rapid growth. You will be responsible for determining layouts and process flow in a new e-commerce distribution center, own continuous improvement initiatives, and help drive best in class quality for our customers. The right candidate is a tinkerer, has a curious mind, and geeks out about process and efficiency!

Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross functional projects with warehouse, data, and dev teams that are critical to supporting the growth of Huckberry’s operations
  • Create and propose layouts for distribution center expansion amp; relocation
  • Optimize shipping and other work stations for efficiency, ergonomics, and quality
  • Manage vendors and outside firms to acquire, install, and runoff new equipment
  • Mine actionable insights from data and execute changes to improve quality and reduce labor costs in the warehouse
  • Work with the Warehouse Team to perform root cause analysis on quality misses and implement proper counter measures - solve the problem we have, not the problem we think we have!
  • Become subject matter expert for all job elements within the WMS and identify areas for improvement
  • Design, test, and implement new package designs to improve shipping quality and drive packing cost ROI
  • Support miscellaneous IT functions such as setting up new picking consoles, printers at pack stations, etc
  • Research industry best practices for DTC fulfillment and provide ROI business case
  • Maintain recent AutoCAD layouts of current operations
  • Standardize and create SOPs for all job elements
  • Responsible for updating regular reports that help track operation performance and KPI’s

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3+ yrs experience in Industrial engineering, preferably in an e-commerce DTC operation.
  • Experience with WMS migration and distribution center relocation a plus
  • Experience building out data visualization in Looker a plus
  • Lives by the 80/20 rule and doesn’t get stuck in the minutiae
  • Proficient in GSuite, Excel, and AutoCAD
  • Willing to work and lead on the floor during peak season
