Job Description

Dairy Management Inc. has an outstanding opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to join our Dairy Transformation Team. The Team is focused on strategically leveraging the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy -- and a long list of impressive moovers and shakers on our various executive-level industry teams -- to work on areas that will support our collective journey to sustainably nourish the world. With regular access to our CEO and C-Suite executives, and leaders of industry, the Project Manager will be able to build an amazing professional network while planning and overseeing projects from ideation through to completion.

The position reports to the SVP of Long-Term Planning and Implementation, and will be counted on to ensure that projects are: completed on time and within scope and budget; organized effectively across the organization (and potentially the Federation); and meet our objectives to deliver value on behalf of America’s dairy farm families.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support SVP to manage and coordinate workstreams for multiple projects that fall under Dairy Transformation Mega Capabilities: Ramp;D Capability, Innovation and Data Technology. Coordinate with Sustainability vertical (as appropriate) to advance cross-over workflow
  • Create long- and short-term plans, create Gantt charts, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, allocating resources, creating tasks
  • Delegate tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them as directed by SVP and senior team members
  • Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects and propose risk mitigation solutions
  • Work directly with vendors’ project managers to assist DMI team in planning and foresee any potential delays and timely communication to SVP
  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Conduct project review and create detailed reports for executive staff
  • Optimize and improve processes and the overall approach, where / when necessary
  • Work directly with executive administrative staff to schedule meetings and coordinate calendars
  • Work with team members on standardizing processes, templates, and materials for meetings
  • Work on appropriate team communications (e.g. emails) as directed by SVP and Comms team members
  • Submit project scopes to SVP for review and enter into financial system
  • Manage overall project scope with vendors to ensure we are getting total value from a contract

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 4-5 years of experience in business administration, communications, project management or other forms of operations or management.

This position is based in Rosemont, IL and may not be eligible for relocation assistance.


As this role connects with multiple business units and organizations, this Project Manager needs to be extremely detail-oriented and organized, and comfortable taking the initiative to suggest improvements. They must have experience working closely with senior executives and effectively managing high-level meetings. They must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Project management technical skills, a must
  • Proven working experience in project management and with project management software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience working cross-functionally with different subject matter experts, business units and disciplines and diverse teams
