Join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is seeking an entry level/junior QA Engineer to help test the DriveWell SDK. A core piece of CMT’s safe driving technology, the DriveWell SDK is integrated into Android and iOS apps and collects the sensor data used to provide feedback to drivers. The focus of the role is continually asking two questions: 1) How do we know that the DriveWell SDK is working? and 2) How can we make our testing process more efficient or complete?
In this role, you will perform detailed experiments using CMT software and hardware to help the Mobile Sensing team understand how the DriveWell SDK behaves under a variety of real-world conditions. When a test fails, you will do the first pass on the investigation into the root cause of the failure (e.g., reviewing logs, determining how to reproduce the failure). To facilitate testing, you will use tools, including Python and shell scripts, command-line tools, SQL, and Jupyter notebooks. You will also write code (mostly Python) to improve the existing tools and create new tools (note: you will not do UI-based automated testing, since the SDK has no UI).
The ideal candidate will have experience performing exploratory or hypothesis-based testing/experiments and enjoy independently troubleshooting complex systems. The ideal candidate will also be curious, adaptable, and self-motivated. This QA Engineering opportunity is a good starting point for a career in quality assurance/test engineering, software development, or product management. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Benefits
Cambridge Mobile Telematics' (CMT) mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. Since its first product launch in 2012 that pioneered mobile usage-based insurance, CMT has become the world’s leading telematics and analytics provider for insurers, rideshares, and fleets. CMT’s DriveWell platform uses mobile sensing and behavioral science to measure driving risk and incentivize safer driving, while its Claims Studio reduces the claims cycle time with real-time crash detection, crash reconstruction, and damage assessment using telematics and artificial intelligence. CMT has over 50 active programs with insurers and other partners, improving safety for millions of drivers every day around the world. Started based on research at MIT and backed by the SoftBank Vision Fund to fuel its rapid growth, CMT is headquartered in Cambridge MA.
