This role
As part of the Product Management team, you bridge the technical and business worlds as you design services that our customers love. You'll work with teammates from Engineering, Sales, Data Science, and User Experience and External Partners, to name just a few. You have a bias toward action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at PayJoy speed. As a Product Manager, you will be a crucial part of defining PayJoy’s future.
In this role, you will contribute to the mission of delivering consumer finance at scale by managing key parts of the PayJoy finance products which are central to the company. These products are used by our Merchants, Distributors to sell and provision to customers, and by internal stakeholders to successfully run lending Operations.
One of the many reasons PayJoy develops innovative products is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative, innovative engineers to design and develop technologies that enable consumer finance in emerging markets. We're responsible for defining product strategy and guiding products throughout the execution cycle. We focus specifically on analyzing, positioning, defining, packaging and tailoring our solutions to the markets where we do business.
Responsibilities
- Understand and teach the company about emerging markets consumer finance users in depth.
- Scale PayJoy's Merchant and Lender-facing products to long-term success in new regions and with new merchants. Apply special focus to key areas including the loan application, underwriting, credit offers, verification, origination, servicing, payments and internal tools.
- Identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy.
- Develop vision and roadmap for these products.
- Forecast and measure the impact of your launches.
- Manage product launches working closely with PayJoy engineers, sales, and technical staff to develop and track release plans.
- Manage communication of progress.
- Assess the quality of releases through monitoring of incoming issues to identify quality issues and trends.
Requirements
Required qualifications
- 5+ years experience in software Product Management in fintech or related industries serving external customers.
- Record of shipping successful software products on modern technologies including the Web and APIs.
- Understanding of the Fintech ecosystem in any country.
- Strong data fluency: capable user of modern analytics tools and running your own queries.
- Strong understanding of modern software development and planning processes.
- Leadership: ability to gain consensus, set vision, and lead with influence.
Desired qualifications
- Fintech work experience in one emerging market.
- Experience delivering point of sale or underwriting software.
