We are looking for a highly-skilled and seasoned Director of Warehousing and Logistics to work primarily at our warehouse in Louisville, KY.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage a warehouse move of inventory and equipment in Louisville, KY
  • Open new warehouse locations on the east and west coasts
  • Manage strategies and processes to guarantee that all products, incoming and outbound, are sent and received on time
  • Initiate innovative operational improvements to reduce costs and streamline workplace efficiency
  • Implement, document and maintain operational processes and procedures
  • Ensure quality management system procedures are adhered
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain employees for all warehousing functions
  • Develop and appraise staff effectively
  • Develop and maintain training programs
  • Anticipate, plan and adjust staffing to meet annual sales and seasonal demand fluctuations
  • Maximize labor productivity and limit overtime with improvements in scheduling, work planning and work processes
  • Empower current qualified staff and add new job roles through strategic workforce planning, training and HR strategy as the company grows
  • Maintain high employee morale through team building, employee development, leadership and operational improvements
  • Demonstrate and communicate company values and goals to the team
  • Optimize inventory storage, bin locations and production areas through data-driven design, processes and technology
  • Track and analyze KPIs of carrier rates, transit times and damages for variances and continuous improvement
  • Assess freight processes and lead projects to improve delivery speed, reduce cost, reduce damage and shortages
  • Partner with suppliers to develop optimal packaging, storage and labeling to support efficiency in inventory handling and storage
  • Oversee material handling fleets and equipment, and scheduling any necessary maintenance or replacements
  • Oversee maintenance of building facilities and mechanical systems to be in top-condition, secure and cost-effective
  • Oversee acquisition and maintenance of all computer hardware and software systems in collaboration with IT dept.
  • Manage safety, HR and OSHA regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a progressive warehouse and/or logistics management environment
  • Hands on experience working with warehouse software systems and databases
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing KPIs
  • Ability to effectively facilitate change and drive continuous process improvement
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Positive, optimistic and result-oriented
