Senior UI/UX Designer at Detroit LabsOur project teams are small, collaborative, and diverse. As a senior designer on one of these teams, you are essential to ensure the work we provide meets the needs and expectations of both users and the business. You'll lead the design of apps as they progress through early ideation, the stages of experience and visual design, and on through development. You'll be the team member that ensures every deliverable we ship supports our belief in design as a means for driving our client's success.
Average Day of a Senior UI/UX DesignerYou'll have some interesting challenges and projects. You'll be able to create solutions that scale utilizing multiple tools to communicate your ideas, such as journey maps, user flows, task analysis, competitive audits, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, pattern systems, and design specifications.
On an average day, you'll collaborate with engineers to assess the feasibility of ideas, implement or evolve your designs to spec and achieve a great product. You will prototype ideas to test their viability, present your ideas to partners, and manage and integrate that feedback and design the finer details of interactions and experiences. You will solve and communicate problems in the simplest fashion, then quickly turn around high-fidelity solutions. You may also be engaged in the active mentoring of a more junior designer, conducting a discovery workshop, or even participating in one of our design sprints. Our senior designers work with their teams to establish projects and scope.

With your growing understanding of the project you will be meaningfully participating in planning meetings for upcoming work ensuring that design is fully incorporated in the estimations.
