Job Description

Cubii is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Operations Department. This compliance role will champion product safety, regulatory, trade, and social compliance along with QA and QMS responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a track record of successfully going from scrappy to scaled by becoming an expert at designing and implementing systems and processes. You'll do what it takes to get the job done while simultaneously figuring out ways to automate, reduce friction, and increase quality. You are a master at driving efficient, repeatable processes that generate consistent results. In this role we are looking for a strong collaborator and communicator to proactively build cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the company. A successful candidate will be effective at driving outcomes and change even without direct authority.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leads product compliance strategy by developing and overseeing processes that ensure products comply to applicable global regulatory standards.
  2. Liaison to product development/management, sales amp; marketing, quality and manufacturing partners for product certification and associated activities.
  3. Supervisory and budgetary responsibilities for product and regulatory compliance.
  4. Interprets global standards, regulations, and codes to determine the applicability of requirements relevant to the company and our products. Also acts as liaison to domestic and international agencies as needed to achieve and maintain product compliance.
  5. Manages the development, implementation and maintenance of SOP as it relates to safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), U.S. trade and security / CTPAT, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  6. Review and approve compliance documents such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Technical Data Sheets, and other documents (insurance, IP/patents/trademarks, global testing standards, etc).
  7. Create protocol to police the internet for counterfeits, from monitoring and evaluation to prevention and vendor management.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, sciences or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product compliance with regulatory requirements, preference for retail familiarity.
  • Experience working with global regulatory agency requirements such as UL, ETL, FDA, TUV, NOM, FDA, FCC, EPA, ASTM, EU REACH, EU RoHS amp; WEEE.
  • Values collaboration and seeks opportunities to build relationships both internally with cross-functional teams and externally with suppliers.
