We are recruiting for a Mainframe Systems Programmer in Columbia, SC. The Systems Programmer will provide engineering and administration support for the IBM Z/OS mainframe environment. The Systems Programmer will also be responsible for:

What You'll Do:

• You will manage all activities related to the operations and maintenance of mainframe computer equipment and peripheral equipment.
• You will analyze usage patterns and establishing schedules and procedures for maximum utilization of the system.
• You will be managing SAN disk space and conducting capacity planning to ensure adequate resource availability (current and future).
• You will be installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and third-party products for the mainframe.
• You will be performing high-level systems analysis, evaluation, integration, documentation, and implementation of mainframe operating systems.
• You will be conducting system health checks and reporting on metrics to determine and improve user experience.
• You will be tuning and optimizing systems for maximum performance and high availability.

Requirements

This is a long-term (W2) contract offering a competitive hourly rate. The ideal candidate will be user-oriented with strong technical, communication, and analytical skills, and a passion for meeting user/customer needs.

Note, this position may be filled remotely but preference will be given to candidates who are local or willing to relocate as onsite work is preferred long-term.
