TechFlow is looking to expand our Digital Services team by seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a high-profile government contract to build an enterprise-level Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) as a service. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working on a small agile development team to design, develop, and maintain CI/CD automation workflows using best-in-class tools across all services in the AWS Cloud platform. This position involves automating the provisioning and setup of new application environments for various test, stage, and production cloud environments and supporting the procedures, policies, and instructional documentation necessary to support an enterprise system. Upon implementation, the DevOps Engineer is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and technical support of the system. This is a hands-on technical position that requires working collaboratively with other team members, producing quality work in short sprints, and under an aggressive schedule.

The DevOps Engineer has experience serving as a cloud engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment while ensuring a shared vision of customer requirements. You are comfortable being ahead of the curve in the latest software engineering tools, techniques, and AWS cloud offerings and being able to share your knowledge of these at both a deeply technical level and at a high level. You troubleshoot problems, especially production issues, involving the appropriate resources and stakeholders, and drive resolution to minimize impact to end-users. You drive improvements to processes and design enhancements in automation to continuously improve the production environment. You help ensure that best security practices are being applied and you identify recurring issues and remediate root causes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for creating and configuring flexible solutions in SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS that encompass the development, delivery, operations, and oversight teams.
  • Ensure system uptime, security, and performance by implementing and maintaining a process for using tools to establish capacity, load, and performance baseline, monitor system metrics, and trigger proactive alerting for incident orchestration.
  • Create and execute software and system installation scripts (EJBCA, Ant, database, certificate authority (CA), registration authority (RA), validation authority (VA), etc.).
  • Design and implement application build packaging and deployment automation using best-in-class methods and tools such as AWS tools in the testing, integration, build, security, and deployment of the software applications.
  • Provision server and database instances, configure cluster and TLS certs per node.
  • System integration with other systems/services/applications (such as load balancers, Microsoft Active Directory for auto enrollment, ACME, REST, ServiceNow, and cloud services).

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of general experience using methods and tools such as Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, Kubernetes, Docker, Selenium, Cucumber, SonarQube, SQL in the test, integration, build, security and deployment of the software applications.
  • Five (5) or more years of provisioning environments and services, automating infrastructure, service delivery, and engineering site reliability, maintaining and operating systems, primarily RHEL, and infrastructure in on premise and AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience in agile DevOps (DevSecOps) practices is a requirement and candidates must be capable of designing and delivering dynamic capabilities, while clearly articulating and implementing a balanced approach to security and agility.
Education Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree. General work experience may be substituted for education. The requirement for education levels can be substituted at the rate of 1.5 years of experience for every year of education. An associate’s degree is 2 years of education, a Bachelor’s degree is 4 years of education, and a Master degree is 6 years of education. The work experience to be substituted for education must be in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Information Security, or a MBA. The years of specific experience used for satisfying an education requirement cannot also be used as filling the work experience requirement.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
  • Eligibility requirement: U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in EJBCA (Enterprise Java Beans Certificate Authority) or other Certificate Authority software package
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux-specific network configurations
  • Ant, Java Development Kit, Apache Server, WildFly
  • AWS RDS
  • Key store management using CloudHSM, SoftHSM
  • AWS relevant certification
