What we do

Ambrook’s mission is to help farmers and ranchers be more profitable and more sustainable. We're building a financial management platform for agriculture, starting with tools that help farmers and ranchers automatically discover and apply for farm assistance (e.g. disaster relief, conservation programs, and climate incentives). In just a few months, we have helped our users successfully apply for millions of dollars in farm assistance.

We’re backed by top seed investors (Homebrew, Designer Fund, BoxGroup, and more) and are looking for values-aligned individuals to join our fully remote founding team.

The problem

Billions of dollars in farm assistance is allocated by Congress every year to help farmers and ranchers become more profitable by using more climate-friendly and sustainable practices.

However, due to short funding windows, confusing forms, and inconsistent government marketing, most farmers and ranchers find themselves overwhelmed by the paperwork or don't hear about the funding in time to apply. We’re fixing that.

The opportunity

Ambrook is building a world-class founding team. In Operations, you will own a core part of the business that has early signs of product-market fit, responsible for ensuring a high quality of customer experience and rigorous internal processes as we aim to rapidly grow our customer base over the next few years. You may also be asked to dive into derisking new parts of the business and assist the CEO with strategic business operations and customer discovery.

The ideal candidate for this role may be thinking about founding their own company in the future; this is an opportunity to learn what it’s like to build a startup from the ground up from repeat founders.

You’ll report to the CEO, Mackenzie Burnett.


Example responsibilities
  • Create amazing customer experiences by managing inbound questions across multiple platforms and enabling customer success
  • Ensure farm assistance applications are processed accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain and expand Ambrook’s Funding Library, and work with engineering team to onboard and productize new program applications
  • Continuously seek to build playbooks or otherwise scale yourself, including writing internal company handbooks, managing external community forum, and partnering with engineering to identify places for software to automate away repeatable work
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to translate customer feedback into marketing experiments and product insights
  • Identify and research market opportunities for new products or partnerships


About you
  • Comfortable with operating in highly unstructured environments and excited to dive into new areas of the business
  • When faced with a problem you don’t know how to solve, you are excellent at figuring out how to get the answer as quickly as possible through the Internet or other people (even if it means cold calling farm bank employees or government officials)
  • Proactive, analytical thinker, effective communicator and a creative problem solver
  • Highly skilled in Excel, experience building financial or cost models

Bonus:

  • Experience or background in agriculture is a plus
  • Experience in companies building financial products is a plus
  • Experience in customer success is a plus
  • Experience in programming is a plus
