Complex Networks is seeking a skilled Freelance, Art Director to join the NY Brand Partnership Studio team

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment on numerous projects and design systems across a variety of mediums
  • Lead the development of identities for new branded series, evolve existing campaign creative, and initiate experiments and explorations for future projects
  • Represent the team on matters of art and design within the greater Sales organization
  • Shepherd work from concept to final delivery, at times within tight deadlines
  • Guide the creation of guidelines, templates, and presentation materials for internal and client-facing initiatives
  • Lead the creation of design assets for use on the web and across social platforms
  • Provide art direction and design for special projects across a variety of platforms and media
  • Organize and present creative work for internal and external review, ensuring creative alignment of all parties, taking special care that client requirement and objectives are thoroughly considered and accounted for
  • Support the Associate Creative Director and Creative Director in the smooth running of the Brand Partnerships design team by providing feedback and direction to fellow designers
  • Foster enthusiasm and camaraderie within the team, contributing to an inclusive and supportive team culture
  • Stay up-to-date with current design, advertising, and marketing trends, sharing information and inspiration with fellow designers
  • Identify and commission freelance talent when needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of professional design experience at a design firm, ad agency, publication, or media company, with an emphasis on branding, motion identity, and graphic design
  • A natural ability to function in a leadership capacity and thrive under pressure
  • A refined, stylish approach to typography and layout compatible with the Complex Networks aesthetic
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Able to give and receive critical feedback and collaborate in a team environment
  • Must be imaginative, resourceful, and able to handle multiple projects efficiently and to a high standard
