Complex Collective is Complex Networks' primary audience insights product and a direct line into a community of 30,000+ high-intent and diverse young people from all over the world. We’re searching for an experienced Community Manager (Freelance) to help us expand research capacity and community engagement efforts. Collective provides first-party audience insights for both internal business initiatives and for brand partners across all verticals, combining quantitative and qualitative insights into actionable and effective insight narratives.


As Community Manager, you’ll be conducting audience-facing insight-gathering exercises across a wealth of engagement platforms including social, web, direct and proprietary channels while interfacing directly with Complex Collective’s members to maintain engagement and to nurture community. You will work directly with the General Manager and Head of Strategy in building, deploying, optimizing research in the form of surveys, focus groups, interviews, and then analyzing/synthesizing data towards ultimate end use cases.

The ideal candidate is curious about behavior generally and audience trends + habits specifically, has an interest in core Complex affinities, and desires to understand the world through the application of contextual data across a wide degree of topical ranges, including but certainly not limited to Politics, Identity, Social Influence, Gaming, Sports Culture, just to name a few.

You will play a key role in understanding client and internal team goals, developing and executing research agendas, and applying research insights to client projects. You're an integral member of the Collective research team working to develop data-driven, grounded campaigns and client products.


Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and execute ongoing membership acquisition and retention strategies; including but not limited to new insights-driven short-form content, giveaways, deeper interaction with Complex’s products and talent, email marketing and push notifications, Qamp;As, et al.
  • Design research recommendations through the use of insights resources and proprietary tools
  • Design and deploy quantitative surveys and analyze data for actionable insights and intelligence.
  • Well versed with the ability to leverage primary research tools, existing research, and platforms to:
    • Identify the most valuable insights for our clients, balancing longer-term brand-building objectives and real/near-real-time results to be achieved.
    • Conduct social engagement with private community groups
    • Conduct audience, category, and brand analysis; leveraging our proprietary data sources
    • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Design, and Web Development teams to ensure a robust, distribution ready product
    • Brings the consumer's world to life for creative teams and clients using qualitative and cultural mining and insightful synthesis of quantitative research to inform a strategic approach
  • Articulate effective strategic rationale and logic flow that will help form a compelling story
  • Input to the strategic development of client presentations and other important communication in a clear manner
  • Ability to manage your workload, understanding how to prioritize and communicate when support is needed


Requirements

  • Experience with community management via social media, email, and strategic outreach
  • Experience in survey amp; RCT design and analysis
  • Multifaceted background with 3+ years of research or data analytics experience
  • Strong experience developing and communicating actionable research insights to creative or other teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, using your initiative to proactively come to the table with new ideas to push forward research into new and productive areas and develop client relationships
  • Ability to organize information into a coherent and compelling narrative<
