The Role

We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer to work with our Services, Integrations, and Payments (SIP) team. We're the go-to team for most third-party software integration. We leverage modern cloud based solutions to develop integrations with a variety of service providers across business areas such as payments, marketing, housekeeping, and property management.

Our team manages and owns all of Kasa's financial data. We are responsible for building the services to ingest financial data, calculate taxes and fees, charge guests, and support financial reconciliation.

You will work with frontend leads, UX designers, and product managers to build the future of Kasa's internal operational platform.


About the Engineering Team

Our Product amp; Engineering team is split between San Francisco and Hungary. Our engineers have diverse backgrounds in hospitality, consulting, real estate, and technology. Everyone joined Kasa because they are passionate about building a platform that delivers value to landlords and serves guests seeking trustworthy, well-priced accommodations in great locations. We run an agile 2-week sprint development process and consider a strong culture-add not just a fit, but a requirement. Our team is comprised of four pods:

  1. SIP (Systems, Infrastructure, and Payments): building the data and financial platform to power our operations amp; technology at scale
  2. Kontrol: building an industry defining property management system
  3. External: creating seamless digital experiences for guests
  4. Access and IoT: enabling stress-free check-ins and comfortable stays to with technology

Day in the life of a Kasa Software Engineer

Like any Software Engineer, there is no ‘typical day’. Before the day gets rolling we like to start by syncing with our Hungarian coworkers in the form of stand-ups or other agile ceremonies like grooming and planning. The rest of the day tends to be free-form and highly dependent on your responsibilities for the day. You'll have your individual tasks as well as collaborate over Zoom with a team of designers, PMs and engineers to resolve complex business problems.

Overall, you are expected to uphold and improve on our high engineering standards. You will not only hone your software engineering skills, but also collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business problems, gather requirements, and design technical solutions.
