Finexio is looking for a highly motivated and polished Finance and Accounting Associate to join our fast-growing Operations organization. In this role, you will be assume and perform a wide variety of duties in the Finance Department, including primary responsibility for monthly closes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, company projections, and ad hoc financial analysis. This is a high growth opportunity with exposure across all business areas and executive leadership. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be the sole financial professional dedicated full time to Finexio, replacing outsourced resources.
Finexio is based in Orlando, FL, but we have flexible working arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly General Ledger closes for Finexio, including preparation of closing entries and primary responsibility for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Monthly accruals to support accounting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Entry and coding of vendor invoices in Bill.com. Review of expenses posted in Xero and recoding as necessary.
- Preparation of client invoices in Bill.com and collection follow up.
- Preparation of monthly statements for clients.
- Monthly updates to Finexio projection models to incorporate actuals and improve forecast accuracy.
- Development of financial metrics applicable to the Finexio business and regular reporting of metric performance.
- Assistance with the preparation of Finexio income tax returns.
- Analysis of the business and current and projected operation margins to support decision making.
- Assistance to the CFO as necessary to research variances, determine the appropriate coding of expenses and other GL transactions, and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Accounting and business process improvement projects as required to enable to the company to grow its business efficiently and cost effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of general ledger accounting or financial analyst experience.
- Strong financial systems background, analytical skills, and sound understanding of accounting principles.
- High level Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with General Ledger accounting systems and syncing feeder systems into general ledgers.
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence leaders and effectively negotiate with business partners and clients.
- Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Adaptable and open to change.
