You will have the opportunity to explore various areas that interest you, so you can capitalize on your experience. You’ll be a vital contributor to our teamnot getting coffee or filing papers all day long.

In return, we offer a $38,600 salary, health and dental insurance, professional development funding, tons of learning opportunities, and an amazing experience!

Here’s a little taste of the kinds of experiences you might have as a GlobalGiving Fellow:

  • Skill-building workshops to improve your understanding of international development, technology startups, social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, disaster response, and crowdfunding.
  • In-depth research and analysis projects around a particular issue area.
  • Training on experimentation, workflow, and querying tools such as Salesforce, Optimizely, MySQL, Metabase, and Zendesk.

About GlobalGiving

GlobalGiving’s mission is to transform aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change.

We help fellow nonprofits access the funding, tools, training, and support they need to serve their communities. Since 2002, the GlobalGiving community has raised more than $500 million from 1 million donors for 27,000 projects in 170+ countries. Each of the nonprofits on GlobalGiving.org has been rigorously vetted and has committed to providing donors regular updates about how donations are put to work.

Fellowship Focus Areas

We have fellowship opportunities on four of our teams: Vetting and Grants, Disaster Recovery Network, Operations, and Business Partnerships. You are welcome to apply to multiple fellowships, but please ensure that your application highlights why you are the best fit for that specific role.

Disaster Response Fellow

GlobalGiving’s crisis/disaster response work is one of our organization’s most visible and impact areas of focus. It involves virtually all GlobalGiving teams. When crises happenfrom a hurricane in Texas to an earthquake in Nepal, to ongoing refugee crises around the worldthe entire GlobalGiving community is activated to provide support. GlobalGiving responds to major disasters by posting general relief and recovery Funds, from which the Disaster Response Team then makes grants to our nonprofit partners working to serve impacted communities. We also provide support to the Business Partnership and other teams at GlobalGiving on corporate disaster response programs and other crisis-related activities.

In 2020, the Disaster Response Team provided critical support to hundreds of nonprofits helping communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, while also responding to hurricanes and storms across the globe, the explosion in Beirut as well as to the Australia and California wildfires. As an integral member of the team, the Disaster Response Fellow will:

  • Monitor crises as they unfold and develop; conduct outreach to existing and new prospective nonprofit partners responding to disasters and crises globally to assist in both assessing needs and nonprofit partner capacity to inform GlobalGiving’s level of response.
  • Review partner disaster-related projects and grant reports.
  • Assist in the grantmaking process for GlobalGiving-managed Funds; support with setting Fund strategy, research potential grantees, review grant materials, and manage communication with GlobalGiving partners and selected grantee partners.
  • Develop and collaborate on human-centered stories and data-driven content; assist in creating externally-facing reports, impact stories and presentations.
  • Assist in cross-team initiatives to improve disaster grantees’ experience and engagement with GlobalGiving products and services.
  • Stay on the pulse of the crisis/disaster response sector, recommend virtual and physical conferences, participate in external calls/webinars and summari
