Job Description

Come be a part of a growing team! OFS is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our ranks. The Accounting Manager has primary oversight responsibilities over the financial statement close process. OFS Accounting operates as a cooperative environment where accounting responsibilities properly identified by the functional managers (SEC Reporting, Financial Planning amp; Analysis, and Accounting) within the department and openly scheduled in a shared, collaborative space (referred to herein as the Financial Close Calendar) in which work (Accounting Work Products) is assigned by degree of difficulty and reviewed appropriately. Whether the work described is prepared or reviewed is determined in accordance with departmental policy.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Custodian of and primary point-of-contact for Financial Close Calendar.
  • Identify, design processes, and schedule within Financial Close Calendar all Accounting Work Products within the scope of manager’s responsibilities.
  • Develop and codify Accounting Policies with input from other managers.
  • Prepare and review ledger-based information (Tabular Disclosures) produced for inclusion in external financial statements as requested by the SEC Manager.
  • Prepare and review internal financial statements.
  • Prepare and review of financial transactions, including Journal Entries and Accounts Payable Postings.
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable function.
  • Prepare and review periodic general ledger Account Reconciliations. Maintain accounting subledgers as needed in accordance with reconciliation responsibilities and segregation of duties.
  • Prepare and review allocation workpapers and fund/affiliate billings
  • Prepare and review other Accounting Work Products as assigned in the Financial Close Calendar
  • Coordinate timelines and requirements of external auditors. Monitor compliance as audit progresses.
  • Applying current accounting amp; finance framework to complex deals to engage in the deal review process and ensure compliance with company policy amp; standards.
  • Configurewith input from other functional managersaccounting and reporting systems to achieve enterprise financial information objectives.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Work remotely, nights and weekends as needed and with short notice (for time sensitive requests).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise three to four direct reports
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (including certifications, licenses, etc):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA or CPA designate desired but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting and/or commercial finance and banking, asset management or loan accounting environment preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
MATHEMATICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to apply general finance mathematics (forecasting, discounting, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze significant amounts of data and provide financial insights in a concise manner
  • Accounting skills as required by this job
REASONING SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and accurately and independently draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and to proactively evaluate and address work opportunities within the area of responsibility
  • Ability to navigate between bases of accounting (e.g., understand current period differences between GAAP and taxable income, how the differences arose, and whether and when they will turn-around). The Company reports on GAAP, tax and statutory bases of accounting.
  • Ability to solve practical problems
TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Solid understanding of general ledger processes
  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting for financial instruments
  • Sufficient understanding of tax accounting to identify potential GAAP-Tax differences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software; Blackline or Cadency experience is a plus
