About the role: We are looking for a VP of People and Culture to join our fast growing company and lead all HR related initiatives including people operations, talent acquisition, and culture. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will work extensively with the C-Suite to grow and scale HR operations and promote a diverse and inclusive culture that enables employees to do their best work. You will own the full strategy and execution of HR and be responsible for growing the team to meet the company’s changing needs.


About you: You have a track record of building an inclusive culture across a 100+ person remote organization, having led company-wide initiatives including performance management, levelling, manager training programs, and DEI initiatives.. You have experience working with a tech company, ideally having seen the 100 - 500-person growth phase. You have excellent communication skills that enable you to handle difficult situations, and a high level of confidence in influencing change at the executive level. You know how people experience change and can execute a change management process to support adoption of changes required by a new initiative.


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a people and culture strategy to attract, retain, develop, and scale the company’s talent
  • Uphold a strong commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion
  • Act as an internal consultant to the C-Suite on topics such as leadership development performance management, culture building, and hiring practices
  • Build the HR department and develop processes to scale along with the growth of the company, including HR operations, culture programming, and talent acquisition.
  • Coach leaders on how to design, build and develop high performing teams
  • Promote and assess company culture, boosting aspects that strengthen the company and addressing aspects that require attention.
  • Drive diversity, inclusion, and people culture initiatives in a multicultural environment
  • Refine and execute compensation planning and employee benefits strategy
  • Leverage data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee the company’s HR systems and provide solutions to improve the employee experience and minimize HR risk
  • Own all employee-related legal and compliance issues including managing risk surrounding terminations

Requirements

Required Skills/Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, with preference for candidates with a professional designation (SPHR, SHRM-SCP)
  • 10+ years’ of HR experience in a fast-growing company, 3+ years supporting leaders in a senior position
  • Strong experience across the employee lifecycle from onboarding through performance management and leadership development
  • Experience leading and building a people team that promotes and sustains a positive company culture.
  • Ability to articulate and sell the vision of the organization to prospective employees
  • Management skills including strategic planning, budgeting, process focus, and risk management
  • Leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, active listening, clear communication, empathy, and ability to motivate
  • Results focused with a strong bias toward problem solving, thoughtful action, repeatable and scalable processes

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Occasional irregular work hours
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
  • Extended time viewing a computer monitor
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
