About the Role

Capella is looking for an experienced Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. In this hybrid role you will define and develop material strategies, manage procurement activities, and analyze budget variances in a highly dynamic environment. You will work with cross functional teams to improve efficiency and productivity, assess supplier capacity and capabilities, develop and maintain supplier relationships. We are looking for someone to join the team who is organized, passionate, diligent, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Define and develop material strategies which optimize production schedules
  • Build and foster strong supplier relationships
  • Assess supplier capabilities and capacity to ensure cost, quality, and schedule goals are sustained through growth
  • Align supplier / vendor onboarding process with supporting business functions
  • Manage Approved Supplier List (ASL) and draft supplier performance scorecards
  • Create and approve Purchase Orders to support direct and indirect requirements
  • Oversee open Purchase Orders and work with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges that arise
  • Collaborate with team members to implement processes and procedures to enhance material visibility
  • Track, receive, and prioritize inbound shipments
  • Monitor performance metrics's, address concerns, and translate results
  • Analyze budget variances and partake in the monthly budget reconciliation process

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Supply Chain Planner and/or Buyer
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Experience working with various Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Take initiative, are results-oriented, and act with a sense of urgency
  • Be analytical, attentive to detail and have a growth mindset
  • Effective communication with interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze, reconcile numbers and manage expenses
  • Anticipation and situational awareness to solve challenges before they become problems

What would set you apart

  • Experience working in the Aerospace / Defense Industry
  • Proficient in the use of NetSuite ERP
  • Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Practiced in procurement under FAR / DFAR regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires special access to conduct the work and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
