The position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of assigned assets as well as cash controls for the bank accounts associated with these assets.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements and the corporate annual report.
- Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Assists external auditors and provides required statements and information for the annual audit.
- Reviews budget reports and assists other departments to prepare annual budgets.
- Coordinates the preparation of the corporate tax return.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in improving processes and creating solutions to customer concerns, issues and other similar items.
- Assist with Ad-Hoc projects
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees accountants
- Train and mentor staff
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Three years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation highly preferred.
- Proficiency in excel is highly preferred
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is preferred but not required
