Who our client is and what they need . . .

Are you passionate about math education? Our client, The Math learning Center (MLC) is a non-profit publisher dedicated to driving excellence in mathematics education. They are looking for an experienced Content Development Manager to lead a team of writers in developing K-5 mathematics content and resources for students and teachers in both digital and print format, with specific focus on grades 4-5.


what you will do . . .
  • Partner with content development team to create comprehensive K-5 mathematics resources that embody practices in teaching, learning, and assessment, in both print and digital format
  • Direct the work of a team of writers to produce engaging mathematics content and educational resources for grades 4-5
  • Incorporate visual modeling and constructivist learning theory to engage learners
  • Ensure curriculum materials are aligned with overall strategic roadmap and company vision
  • Work with production and technical teams to design engaging solutions for new products including teacher materials, student games, assessments, and videos
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from MLC’s team of content experts and external partners for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with industry leaders and educators to produce culturally-responsive and equitable resources
  • Assist professional development teams and partner organizations, such as marketing and communication, to advise on teacher-facing materials and to ensure successful implementation of curriculum resources
  • Keep abreast of research and development in the field of mathematics education, particularly for grades 4-5

Requirements

what you need to bring . . .
  • Experience with educational material and resource design in elementary or early middle school math education
  • K-5 teaching experience
  • Deep understanding of elementary mathematics content (particularly grades 4-5) and development of student thinking across grade levels
  • Deep understanding of curriculum and pedagogy trends in mathematics education
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management, problem solving, collaboration and organization skills
  • Able to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Graduate degree in education or related field strongly desired
